Our Beliefs

At IBC we subscribe to the doctrinal statement of the Baptist Faith and Message as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 2000. Our Church Covenant has chosen to list a summary of beliefs as highlighted below:

Doctrinal Statement

  1. We believe the Holy Bible to be the inspired, infallible, authoritative Word of God.

  1.  We believe there is one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, And Holy Spirit.

  1. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is deity, that He was born of a virgin, that we are redeemed by His atoning death through His shed blood, that He bodily resurrected and ascended into Heaven, and that He will come again in power and great glory.

  1. We believe that Man was created in the image of God, and because of man’s sin, he incurred not only physical death but spiritual death, which is separation from God. The result of man’s sin is that all human beings are born with a sinful nature.

  1. We believe that men are saved through a direct, personal encounter with the risen Lord, at which time they are regenerated by the Holy Spirit.  This event we hold to be an experience rather than a doctrinal supposition.

  1. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whom Christ indwells each believer, enabling him to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, to live a godly live of obedience and to spiritually enhance his life through sharing the Good News about Jesus Christ with others.

  1. We believe the Holy spirit unites all believers in the Lord Jesus Christ and that together they form one body, the Church.

Bryant Arriaza, Pastor

Bryant was born in Brooklyn, New York, raised in New Jersey, and later moved to Tennessee, where he spent most of his life. It was during his high school years in Tennessee that he experienced a life-changing encounter with the Lord, which led him to pursue a calling in ministry.

He earned his Bachelor’s degree in theological studies from Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary and his Master’s degree from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, Missouri, honing his skills in biblical teaching and church leadership.

Bryant has served in various pastoral roles, including Lead Pastor, Associate Pastor, and Youth Minister, which have deepened his passion for serving God’s people and sharing the Gospel. His diverse ministry experiences have shaped his holistic approach to church life, from shepherding congregations to mentoring young believers.

Bryant and his wife, Madeline, are actively involved in ministry and came to us from Memphis, Tennessee. They share their home with their two dogs, Hershey and Brother. Committed to growing in their walk with the Lord, they focus on building lasting relationships and fostering a spirit of love and service with their new church family.

Youth Ministry

IBC's youth ministry is for kids in grades 6-12 and exists to disciple students and prepare them to walk with Christ for the rest of their lives. Students will have opportunities to serve, messages geared toward their current situation, and a chance to worship and fellowship together.

  2. Sunday School is held every Sunday morning at 9am.
